Check Sites Accessible

Migration Manager must be able to connect to the internet in order to communicate with various services required by the product.

If a machine is located within a very secure network environment, some of these ports and websites maybe blocked by default, preventing MM from functioning correctly.  You can check the accessibility of these sites through Migration Manager.  If certain sites are blocked, contact your IT Administrator to arrange to have these made accessible.

Accessing ‘Check Sites Accessible’

From the Main Menu, select Help, then Check Sites Accessible.  

The Check Sites Accessible window will appear.

If the site is accessible, a green tick will appear.  If it is not accessible, a red x will appear.

If you find you have sites blocked, contact you IT Administrator and direct them to the user guide for Ports to Open in a Secure Environment.

Obviously if you are located in a temporary location like a Library, Airports, Hospitals etc, you won’t be able to arrange for these ports to be opened.  In these circumstances if accessing Migration Manager was critical you would need to tether the Laptop to your mobile phone to access Migration Manager.
