Activating MFA in immi

Immi has introduced compulsory MFA to its website.  In order to process applications or run VEVO, you must have MFA activated.

If you run VEVO in Migration Manager without first setting up MFA, you will receive an error message informing that you must activate MFA up before continuing.

Activating MFA in immi

1. Open Google Chrome and navigate to https://online.immi.gov.au/lusc/login . Manually log in.

2. Once Login is successful, the Information page will notify you that you must setup MFA. Agree to the Terms, then Next.

3. Immi will now send a Verification Code to the email address associated with your immi account.  Check your Email Inbox, then enter the Verification Code and Verify.

4. Once verified, immi will take you to set up MFA.  Chose if you have a valid Authenticator App on your mobile device or not. These would include:

  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Google Authenticator
  • LastPass Authenticator

Then click Next.

5. Immi will now tell you to open your Authenticator App.  Do this, then click Next.

6. Now using your Authenticator App, either Scan the QR Code, or enter the secret code given by immi. Then click Next.

7. Complete the process by entering the Authenticator code displayed in your Authenticator App and Next.

Setup is now complete. Each time you log into immi, you will be asked for the Authentication Code from your Authenticator App.
